Avant le voyage

Mes meilleurs conseils pour profiter de votre voyage et adopter un tourisme respectueux.

  • Leave your itinerary with your loved ones and explain to them you will be travelling through remote places so no news is good news.
  • Slow down and fully enjoy the moment.
  • Learn a few words of the main local language and don’t be afraid to use hand gestures and body language.
  • Be open-minded and curious. Don’t judge others. Listen to all opinions. You may be surprised by what you will learn.
  • Ask questions and learn from those who live in the country you are visiting. They will enrich your travels.
  • Travel more sustainably. See below for more information.

  • Leave no trace: stick to marked pathways, use reusable bottles, take your rubbish and leave the place even better than you found it.
  • Respect local people: don’t judge, treat people, local customs and religions with respect. Ask before taking photographs.
  • Dress respectfully: be aware of local standards (e.g. cover up in holy places, prefer t-shirts to strappy tops).
  • Take care of natural resources: do not squander water or electricity, do not take or buy any natural ‘souvenirs’ (shells, corals, flowers…).
  • Leave animals alone: do not feed them or disturb them.
  • Don’t encourage begging: do not give money or sweets to children as it encourages them to beg instead of going to school. Instead make a donation to a local school or charity.

Do I need to pay any fee to Just Boarded?

No, my services are totally free of charge for travellers. Only the local agency is authorised to receive your payment so you pay the local team for the price of your trip directly. Just Boarded only acts as an adviser and therefore does not sell trips.

How to get a quote?

Get in touch by using the contact form on the website or by sending me an email at info@justboarded.com. I will first learn a bit more about the kind of trip you're looking for and then create your bespoke itinerary.

When to book?

I recommend booking for your adventure at least 4 months before departure to get the best flights deals and have time to prepare for it.

How to pay for my adventure?

In order to secure your trip, the local team will send you an invoice for a deposit. The final balance is usually due one month before departure. You can pay by bank transfer.

What will I receive before I travel?

You will receive:

  • A detailed itinerary;
  • A gear list to pack everything you need for your adventure;
  • Some training tips to get in shape before the big day;
  • Information on how to get your VISA (if needed).
Do I need to buy travel insurance?

Travel insurance is compulsory for all trips. You have to be covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. I strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. A copy will need to be sent to the local team before departure. To get a quote, click here.

Do I need any specific documents with me?

Please always carry with you your passport (leave a copy in your main bag) and your insurance details.

Can I raise money for a charity?

I strongly encourage you to do some good before, during and after your adventure so please support any charity you want. Please note the money raised can't go towards the price of your trip. All money raised will go straight to the charity.
